It's one thing to learn about The 5 Habits of Money. It's an entirely different thing to live, practice and apply The 5 Habits. I've shared my situation with you earlier. Here is a progress report.
1. I'm getting my HUSTLE on. I'm working as a direct sales rep at Comcast. Even though we are in a recession (yeah, Bernake I said it!) I'm still getting opportunities to increase my HUSTLE. I've got offers for more work.
2. I've been diligent in PAYING MYSELF. Every paycheck, 10% goes back to me. I feel this habit is so important that I'm placing it as the second Habit of Money behind Hustle. If you are saving 10% or more of your income, then you know how good it feels. Every 2 weeks, every paycheck, your wealth grows. Remember, it's not the actual amount. It's the habit you are building. The percentage matters though, no less than 10%. no exceptions.
3. FINANCIAL DIET. Can I say I'm on a cracked out financial diet? I've designed my diet as follows:
10% tithe ( I cut out a check every 2 weeks)
10% pay yourself ( I make a transfer to my savings every paycheck)
20% repay debt
60% live on the rest
LESSONS LEARNED.
1. What humble pie taste like.
2. It feels good to commit to following The 5 Habits
3. Once you set up your FINANCIAL DIET, you know what to do when
you make more money.
4. HAVE FAITH and PATIENCE. IT'S HAPPENING NOW!
